The FLEX 24V Random Orbital Polisher Kit. This is the first set of polishers made by FLEX to offer the same 24V stacked lithium battery cell (similar to a cell phone battery) ecosystem found in their commercial grade tools. Traditional cordless machines have utilized a battery that houses cells similar to laptop batteries (18650) that have been 'chained' together. This newest ecosystem of FLEX 24V batteries gives you the closest feeling to a corded machine without the cord. Longer run time, power comparable if not beyond that of a corded machine, and with the freedom of not being attached to a wall and cable management bogging you down.

The FLEX 24V tools have an upgraded, ambidextrous speed dial (rheostat) that provides proper mechanical feedback when switching speeds. A pull / lock trigger found in all full size FLEX polishers is used, and it's encouraged that when using the unit for a pass, the trigger be locked and the machine is supported at the front and held at the battery to balance the machine itself. This method makes it clear the intent of the tool design and feels natural.

When it comes to ergonomics, the first thing I notice is that the battery mounting is made to be parallel with the surface. The head of the machine feels a bit more compact than the previous generation 18V cordless units, and that brings the machine closer to the work surface. 

Shared charger with all other 24V machines means less time waiting for 100% and a seamless process when a battery has been run down. It is advised that each battery be fully charged before 'real' use. When not in use or what you'd call 'storage', lithium batteries keep best with 75% of full capacity. 

These machines are very strong, slated as being a 'professional-use solution' and is more than capable for auto & marine applications. IN reality, not a talking point!
