How to Use Refresh with a Glass Shine

Using REFRESH with a Glass Shine  is a straightforward process that involves a few simple steps. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Start by spraying a small amount of REFRESH on the surface you want to clean. Be sure to cover the entire area evenly.
  2. Next, take one Glass Shine and fold it in half. This gives four clean sides to work with. This will be your wet towel.
  3. Wipe the surface gently in a back and forth motion, using moderate pressure. Use a 'body scraper' to get direct pressure all the way into where the glass joins pillars so there are no edges left untouched.
  4. After cleaning the surface, the second dry towel may be used to wipe off any excess liquids and buff the glass.
  5. If necessary, repeat the process on the same surface or move on to the next one.

Step-by-Step Guide to Clean Car Windows with Carbon Collective REFRESH and KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel

Now that you understand how to process glass, let's look at how to clean car windows effectively using these two products. Follow these steps for a spotless and clear finish:

  1. Park your car in a shaded area to avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the cleaner to dry too quickly and leave streaks.
  2. Roll down the windows and clean both sides of 'the uppers' that hide within the door with the windows all the way up.
  3. Take the KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel and fold it in half, then wipe the surface in a back and forth motion. Make sure to cover the entire area, including the corners and edges.
  4. After cleaning the surface, flip the towel to a clean side and wipe it again to remove any remaining cleaner or water.
  5. Repeat the process on all windows, including the rear windshield and side mirrors.
  6. For best results, use a separate towel for the inside and outside surfaces to avoid cross-contamination.
  7. Once you're done cleaning, check for any streaks or spots. If necessary, repeat the cleaning process on those areas.

Tips for Effective Cleaning and Maintenance

Here are some tips to help you get the most out of Carbon Collective Glass Cleaner and KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel:

  • Always shake REFRESH before use to ensure it is well-mixed.
  • Use a separate towel for the inside and outside surfaces to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Wash the KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel with a mild detergent and warm water after each use. Avoid using fabric softeners, bleach, or dryer sheets, as they can damage the microfiber material.
  • Store the KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel in a clean and dry place to prevent bacteria growth and odor.
  • Avoid using Carbon Collective REFRESH and KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the cleaner to dry too quickly and leave streaks.
  • For stubborn marks or grime, use dwell time and allow the cleaner to sit for a few minutes before wiping it off

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Using Carbon Collective Glass Cleaner and KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel

Here are some common mistakes to avoid while using Carbon Collective Glass Cleaner and KLiN Korea Glass Shine Microfiber Towel:

  • Using too much cleaner, which can cause streaks and leave residue behind.
  • Using a low-quality or dirty towel, which can scratch the glass surface and leave lint or fibers behind.
  • Wiping the surface too hard or fast, which can cause friction and leave streaks behind.
  • Not following the recommended surfaces, which can cause damage to the surface or leave residue behind.
  • Using Glass Cleaner and Glass Shine Towels on surfaces other than glass, which can cause damage or leave residue behind.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Is REFRESH safe for use on tinted windows? Yes, REFRESH is safe for use on all types of glass surfaces, including tinted windows.

  2. How often should I wash the Glass Shine? Wash after each use by hand with warm water to prevent bacteria growth and maintain its effectiveness.

  1. Can I use these on other surfaces besides glass? No, it is not recommended ASIDE from the glass towel being used on touch screens. A chemical cleaner should not be used in this instance.

  2. Can I use a different microfiber towel? Use what works for you, but realize that random towels give random results.

  3. Can I dilute REFRESH for a more cost-effective solution? You could I guess, but this is made to work a certain way and is offered as being RTU and NOT as a concentrated solution.

Conclusion

  1. Correct cleaner and towel to remove residues makes the process much easier.
  2. Working in the dark or shade removes risk factors that promote streaks in the first place. Do not be lazy, take the time to control your work environment and the results will show.
  3. Polarized Sunglasses can be key. Better products and a faster process should be making time for you to check your work. We ALL miss spots, the key is to be thorough in the checking process, a mistake only requires a swipe of a relatively dry towel to finish off.
  4. You may want to add products to this process. If you have access to a microsuede towel, a final buff with one can really turn out the best results. It requires firm pressure, but the fingers of the material yield perfection IF the method is still falling short.
  5. While not mentioned in the process, exterior glass should absolutely be clayed if it has not been done in a while BEFORE the windows are cleaned. Clay and even a properly wielded razor blade can remove some hardcore buildup. Use caution around your seals and gaskets obviously.

Sealing

I will touch on this in another post, but once this work is done the glass has been made clean. While visibility will be much better, you'll want to seal the glass to repel water and help against the glass collecting contaminants. A ceramic is the best option. Even if you don't use ceramics on paint and you're against them in general, the benefit CANNOT be overlooked on Glass. There is zero issue with purists and resale value or being period correct- if there is ever the possibility you could be out in the rain, you want a ceramic on the glass.

There are also products like Carbon Collective CLARITY which are a sprayable product that performs like a ceramic but with an easier install process.

Until next time!
