Koch Chemie Multi Star N (known in Europe as Vorreiniger B) is a highly concentrated alkaline pre-wash or pre-cleaner. Multi Star uses surfactants to dissolve dirt, wheel dust, insects and bird droppings. The German and EU markets opt for this product in car washes for no-contact, high pressure touch-less cleaning. Multi Star also has corrosion inhibitors, so it may be used with more sensitive surfaces such as anodized aluminum.
Highly concentrated, this has a number of uses and applications. A spray bottle mixed up can yield a cost effective All-Purpose solution, and it may also be foamed onto a surface. View this as a product similar to Green Star.
Designed with contact-less in mind, foam onto a vehicle at ratios ranging from 1:20-1:5 depending on level of soiling. Because of the alkaline value, it's important to manage your environment and NOT LET the product dry on any work surface to ensure there is no surface interaction. Multi Star eats up road salt. Encrusted road treatments are easily broken down and rinse off without contact.
Koch Chemie suggests dilutions:
Depending on the dirt accumulation: precleaning: 1:30 to 1:50. Rim cleaning: 1:3 to 1:10. Copolymer dewaxing: 1:5 to 1:10. Self-service high-pressure washing: 1:300. Apply over whole surface, allow to react for a short time and use a high-pressure cleaner to rinse off thoroughly. VDA conform to class A: reaction time max. 5 min, max. application concentration 1:300. Class B: reaction time max. 1 min, max. application concentration 1:30
